MoodhuFilaa invites kids to step away from screens and back into nature. Introducing "Rashu Veshi - Island Life" a weekend program designed to connect children with the simple, sensory joys of a Maldivian childhood.

Each weekend, kids become island explorers. From navigation and mapping to woodworking such as Make and paint a kuda gon’di, and from beach ecosystems to marine biology we’ve spread our favorite sessions throughout the month.

It’s a journey of discovery where kids spend valuable time outdoors, building practical skills and a deeper understanding of our local environment, one weekend at a time.

  • Navigation and Mapping: integrates science, mathematics, and social studies to learn navigation by combining compass and celestial observations.
  • Shoreline & Sea Discovery: Children will study the Beach Ecosystem and Marine Biology to understand the local environment.
  • Traditional Craft: Kids will develop practical skills as Making a Kuda Gon’di and create their own useful items from palm leaves.
  • Reef Exploration: To document their findings, children will snorkel and share their discoveries through Underwater Journaling, combining scientific data with creative reflection directly from the reef.
  • Traditional Games: We are also featuring Thin Hama: Make and Learn, where kids build and play their own game from natural materials.

  • Backpack: A comfortable one they can carry themselves with all their belongings inside.
  • Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes that can get messy and dirty.
  • Clothes that can get dusty or painted
  • Sun protection items you prefer (hat, sunscreen, etc.)
  • Insect /Mosquito repellent (please apply before arrival if preferred and a small bottle can be stored in their backpack for the day).
