Build a Shelter
Sticks, rope, knots, hammer and nails. Children learn to use real tools safely and work together to build a Haruge (Shelter)
Kids Pickup/Dropoff from Male’ Ferry Terminal

Day 1: Plan & Prep
  • Design a shelter, learn to safely handle tools, practice knots on a small frame, and clear/prepare the build site as a team.
Day 2: Build the Structure
  • Assemble and raise the main wooden frame using ropes and knots. Secure the roofing structure with hammer and nails.
Day 3: Finish & Furnish
  • Add walls and a simple door to the frame. Build a small bench to sit inside the completed shelter.

  • A backpack your child can comfortably carry (with their belongings inside)
  • A litterless healthy snack
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Sun protection items you prefer (hat, sunscreen, etc.)
  • Comfortable clothes for messy outdoor play (footwear should be comfortable for walks)
  • Raincoat & rain boots (if rainy)
  • Mosquito repellent
If the session includes ocean time
(parents will be informed ahead of time)
  • Swimwear & quick-dry clothes
  • Towel & extra change of clothes
    Please ensure your child can change independently — this helps reinforce confidence and responsibility during outdoor activities.
  • Waterproof bag for wet items
  • Children are welcome to bring their own snorkel gear
